Whiteboard

Watch our DIY Whiteboard instructional video online.

Level: Beginner

Beginner projects can typically be completed with little tooling (if any). Assembly can be completed in 20 - 45 minutes, and we recommend 45 - 60 minutes for planning and personalization. This project is appropriate for students in grades 1 and above.

Objective: Construct a DIY whiteboard

Students will use basic carpentry skills to build their very own DIY whiteboard. Students will have an opportunity to get creative and decorate their whiteboards, making them a perfect item to draw on or list their household chores and homework to-do’s!

Instructors then have an opportunity to reinforce learnings on telling time by prompting questions such as:

  • Why was it so important to align your whiteboard parts during assembly?

  • What are you going to write or draw on your whiteboard?

  • Where are you going to hang your whiteboard?
