DIY Step Stool
Watch our DIY Step Stool instructional video online.
Level: Beginner
Beginner projects can typically be completed with little tooling (if any). Assembly can be completed in 20 - 45 minutes, and we recommend 60 - 120 minutes for planning and personalization. This project is appropriate for students in grades 2 and above.
Objective: Construct a DIY step stool
Students will use basic carpentry skills to build their very own DIY step stool. With a large canvas to decorate on, students will have an opportunity to get creative and express their interests by decorating and painting their step stool. Not to mention it will be convenient to have a step stool throughout the house for those things beyond our reach!
Instructors then have an opportunity to reinforce learnings by prompting questions such as:
What skills were required for you to assemble the step stool?
How will use your step stool?
Why do you think the step stool is able to hold your weight when you stand on it?
Supplies & Materials:
