Empowering future innovators with hands-on DIY education

What we do

We partner with schools and youth programs to teach students practical skills and introduce them to career pathways in the skilled trades through hands-on learning opportunities. Our program curriculum supports educators’ efforts to create a holistic learning environment that equips students with life skills and confidence for lifelong success.

Why it matters

The future of our workforce is evolving. As many skilled trade workers are retiring, labor shortages are on the rise, surfacing concerns about the vulnerability of future economic and infrastructure development in many communities.

Meanwhile, students are often led to believe that a 4-year college degree is the only viable path to success. College, however, is not a fit for every student. Many other viable post-secondary education and career options exist that can lead to successful lives, including those in the skilled trades.

For students who may not pursue a college degree, skilled trades careers provide tremendous opportunities for stability and growth. For those who choose the college path, learning practical life skills will foster their confidence, preparing them to address and overcome future challenges.

Our mission is to spark and nurture an early interest in the skilled trades, so that more students grow up experiencing the power of building something themselves first-hand and gaining the confidence to complete any project from start to finish.
